Welcoming Junior Party 2010/2011

25/07/2010 Css Rock organized Welcoming Junior Party for juniors at St Henry Church. Thanks to the seniors for their hard work in preparing the food and tentative. Slept less than 2 hours the night before the party. Lol.

Party started after Sunday Mass like usual in the hall behind the church. There were ice breaking songs for them to move around and know each others since this is the first time for some of them to got into this kind of atmosphere. Mentor and mentee system was introduced where all the juniors were divided into groups and they were asked to choose their mentor. And these mentor were assigned to take care of their juniors the whole semester. So Juniors! If u got any complains about the seniors, please dun hesitate to contact our Mr President. Hehehe.

Welcome Junior to St Henry Church

Its been 2 months since our last update. 2 months in exact where most of our members went back home for holidays to cure their homesick disease. ^^ Now most of them have come back to settle their score. A new semester with a new resolution. New members coming in from 2010/2011 intake in UTHM and also Institut Perguruan Tun Hussein Onn. Sad to say there's no one from ADTEC. Glad that new members from each of different institute in Batu Pahat are more than 35 people. Congratz to those who work hard to lead those new members to our family. God Bless You.

Objectives:
1. Melahirkan generasi yang berdisiplin, berpengtahuan, dan berkemahiran dalam pelayanan bersama Kristus.
2. Menerima dan berkongsi cinta kasih Kristus.
3. Memperkasakan asas dan memperkuatkan iman kita terhadap Tuhan.

Program Fee: Rm40
The total expenses for a participant from Malacca is Rm115 and Johor Bahru is Rm95 for 4 days and 3 night in Majodi. Help is needed from each C.S.S to do fund-raising activities to support the program. Each C.S.S are expected to contribute Rm100 to support the program.

August Rush

This is a very inspiring movie. So i just want to share this with you all. It was first introduce to us by our Css Rock President, Joey Aiiko.

Sypnosis:

There's music in the wind and sky. Can you hear it? And there's hope. Can you feel it? The boy called August Rush can. The music mysteriously draws him, penniless and alone, to New York City in the quest to find - somehow, someway - the parents separated from him years earlier. And along the way he may also find the musical genius hidden within him.



August Rush is a part romance, part gentle fantasy, but this sweet drama is all heart. When young cellist Lyra (Keri Russell) and rock musician Louis (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) meet at a party in the mid 1990s, its love at first sight, and they spend the night in each other's arm. But Lyla'a father forces them apart, even through she later learns she's pregnant. Later, an accident lands Lyla in the hospital, and through her father tells her that her baby died, the child survives and is given up for adoption. August Rush jumps to the present and begins to follow Evan (Freddie Highmore), an 11 year old who has grown up in a boys' home. As Evan embarks on a crusade to find his parents, he imagines he can communicate with them through his gift for music. His journey to New York City brings him into contact with Wizard (Robin WIlliams), a man eager to capitalize on the child prodigy's talent. Wizard gives Evan the name August Rush as he begins performing all over the city, but the boy's ultimate goal is to find the parents he has never met. He's a gifted young actor, and this emotional story is the perfect venue for his acting.

Life

How often we must bear the challenges of life;
The endless roller coaster between happiness and sorrow;
The constant ups and downs of daily strife.

While standing at a crossroads in life,

Easter Day Celebration At St Henry Church

3rd April 2010- It is finished. His passion is over.

It was a special day for us, Christians. And still is. The day when we longer weep but to embrace that thrill of joy for " The Lord is risen"

Mass started at 9pm by Fr Lawrence. It started off with a darkness. A complete darkness where Fr Lawrence came into the Church with a candle in hand. Then the fire from father's candle started to spread to all Christian fellows and light up the church. Father gave a sermon on the real meaning of celebrating Easter.

Then it was this musical sketch next, a brief and meaningful one from the youth. The youth of the Church presented their musical sketch which tell us about temptation. It started off with a teenager caught up between good and evil. The temptations where those devils pull the girl away from the path of good. Then those Angels trying hard to show the girl the right path. The musical sketch show us something that most of us teenagers nowadays. Going to club for alcohol, take drugs, doing illegal work for the sake of money, and all these temptation which pull us apart from God as God love us so much where we lose our faith to Him. The musical sketch ended and left us in awe and somehow manage to open our eye where some of the viewer were caught in tear. Father was in tears and He share with us about the presentation.

It was Baptism next and the mass ended around 11.30pm. We were so grateful that the Church prepared us supper. They have variety of cakes and even had Easter Eggs. It came in with a cute box. ^^ Everyone went home with a smile on their face together with reflection from the musical sketch. Hoping that would inspire us in our coming life where God will always be there to help us in showing us the way to the path of righteous.
